Tsunami Appeal World XI v All-Asia Team – 02/01/2005 Tim May, Chief Executive of the Federation of International Cricketers Associations (FICA) today, gave the Association’s endorsement to the team selected to represent the World XI in the Cricket World’s Tsunami Appeal match to be played in Melbourne on January 10. FICA Proposal The match to be played as a fundraising initiative for the Tsunami victims, was agreed to by the International Cricket Council and the Asian Cricket Council following a proposal received from FICA last week. May said: "Player Associations and its member players were unanimous and immediate in their support for this match – it is terrific that the games’ players and administrators across the world can work as one to assist in some way to the devastation caused by the Tsunamis. "Players across the world have very strong links with not only their local communities, but communities throughout the cricketing world.
