West Indies’ Twenty20 Form To Be Tested By PCA Masters – 12/04/2007 By kind invitation of the Duke of Norfolk, 26th June 2007 sees the West Indies cricket team take on the Professional Cricketers’ Association Masters at one of the country’s most beautiful sporting venues, Arundel Castle Cricket Ground. This Twenty20 match, the first for the West Indies on English soil, and their first against England, will provide a great indicator of their form ahead of the back-to-back NatWest International Twenty20 games against England at The Brit Oval on the 28th and 29th of June. With the Masters Series going from strength-to-strength and with nearly 20 matches scheduled for the summer, the PCA has confirmed the appointment of Nick Knight as the side’s permanent captain. Knight, the veteran of 117 England matches and captain of Warwickshire until his retirement last year, will play an active role in team selection and lead out the team for all key matches, including its trips to Barbados and Sri Lanka in the autumn. Nick Knight said: ” The PCA Masters has become a side to be reckoned with and it’s my aim to add to their success. ” We have a hectic schedule for the 2007 season. I’m most looking forward to giving the West Indies a run for their money down at Arundel Castle and then finishing the year with tours to Barbados and Sri Lanka.” Tickets for the PCA Masters match at Arundel Castle, which starts at 5:30pm, are £ 20 (concessions at £ 15), proceeds from which will aid the PCA’s benevolent work.
