South Africa Versus PCA Masters In Twenty20 At The Wormsley Cricket Ground – 31/07/2008 The PCA Masters, sponsored by Sodexo, who take on the South African tourists in a Twenty20 match at The Wormsley Cricket Ground, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire on August 13, has named its strongest ever team. The match, which comes one week ahead of England’s Twenty20 match against South Africa at the Riverside, will be a great chance to assess the form of The Proteas in the short game. The PCA Masters team is captained by former England international, Nick Knight, and is packed with Twenty20 specialists, including: Vikram Solanki – Worcestershire & England Matthew Walker – Kent Stephen Moore – Worcestershire Nathan Astle – Nottinghamshire & New Zealand Mark Alleyne – Gloucestershire & England Darren Stevens – Kent Nick Knight – Warwickshire & England (captain) Chris Lewis – Surrey & England Paul Nixon – Leicestershire & England (wk) Gareth Batty – Worcestershire & England Darren Gough – Yorkshire & England The venue at Wormsley, built by the late American-born British philanthropist, Sir Paul Getty, is unique. Sir Paul Getty was a devotee of all things English, especially the most English of games, cricket. His vision and the creation of an Arcadian cricket ground on his estate was a source of joy to him and his family. Now revered by many as one of the most beautiful in the world, no expense has been spared to prepare the facilities to an international standard. The ground, which sits in a 2,500 acre estate and is swooped over by red kites, boasts both a thatched pavilion and scoreboard. Members of the public are welcome to attend this special match, which offers the chance to see the players close up and in a more relaxed environment than the normal cricket ground. However, with many former internationals representing the PCA Masters, there will be nothing relaxed about the on-field competition. Important note: Tickets are only available in advance from Ticketmaster who can be contacted by phoning 0870 534 4444 and quoting Wormsley, or through going online to www.ticketmaster.co.uk. There is no facility to pay on the day. Prices are £ 20 for adults and £ 12 for concessions. Some VIP hospitality tickets are available at £ 175. The doors open at 11am, giving ample time for picnics and the chance to watch players warming up and the PCA Masters Community Coaching Session. The coaching is made possible through the support of Sodexo. The match starts at 2pm. Car Parking Passes are available to all ticket holders at the advance price of £ 5 (£ 10 on the day). Advance Car Parking Passes can be added once tickets for the event have been selected.
