Stuart Bevins to organise a fund-raising match Former Worcestershire wicketkeeper Stuart Bevins and his wife Lorna are organising a fund-raising match for a stalwart of Midlands club cricket on Sunday August 16. Mark ‘Nobby’ Whitehead was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in his mid-thirties and, more recently, with Multiple System Atrophy. The Blossomfield club in Solihull, with which Whitehead was most closely associated, are raising funds to contribute to a wet room for him in his new home in Sutton Coldfield. The Bevins have organised a triangular cricket tournament at Blossomfield this Sunday with three 10 over matches involving two Blossomfield Golden Oldies team and another of Solihull School Old Boys. The cricket will start at 1pm. Lunch and tea will also be available at a cost of £ 10 per head for lunch and £ 5 per head for tea. There will be an auction during the day with prizes including a signed Jonny Wilkinson rugby shirt, a hospitality box at St Andrews for four people for a Birmingham City match, a signed England cricket shirt from the 2012 series against the West Indies and a spa day for two.
