Chichester Priory Park CC are seeking an experienced coach/player coach to lead the development of all our senior players as the club aim to progress to higher levels. The Senior Head Coach will plan and manage all senior cricket training, maintaining and developing its strong reputation so that it continues to thrive for future generations.
The role requires someone who can commit to being a key figure at the club. It involves working evenings from mid-April to early September throughout the season as well as running pre-season indoor training.
It’s an exciting time to join the club, with a dynamic and enthusiastic committee and a young ambitious playing squad who strive to achieve the Club’s vision of being a high performing and sustainable community cricket club.
In addition to planning and delivering senior training, preferably, you will also be available to play for the club at 1st XI standard on a Saturday throughout the season (although not essential).
The club has 4 Senior Saturday league teams and plays in the 1st Central Sussex Cricket League. Our ambition over the next 5 years is to gain promotion and sustain the club in the top levels of the league.
1st & 2nd XI fixtures are hosted at Goodwood and our 3rd & 4th XI have the honour of playing in Priory Park, Chichester.
Applicants should:
– Hold a minimum of ECB Core Coach (level 2) Qualification.
– Hold a safeguarding certificate and be DBS checked.
– Have the ability to plan and deliver appropriate, high-quality sessions for senior players of all ages and abilities.
– Have an ambition to continue to develop their own coaching skills.
– Be committed and motivated by the long-term success of our Club.
The role includes:
– Planning and delivering Tuesday evening performance squad sessions (1st & 2nd XI squads) at Goodwood and Thursday evening club training (all senior sides 1st XI to 4th XI) at Priory Park throughout the summer.
– Planning and delivering winter indoor pre-season training.
– Acting as a mentor, providing guidance and support to players and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and achievement.
– Regular liaison with team captains as part of the senior cricket committee.
– Working with the Head of Junior Cricket and Junior Head Coach to ensure that juniors entering adult cricket are given the best opportunities to develop their game.
– Reporting to the Head of Senior Cricket.
Renumeration will be on an hourly rate for coaching only.
