England stars Jos Buttler, Ben Foakes, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Olly Stone and Chris Woakes will all be supporting the Professional Cricketers’ Trust’s new Club Together for Cricket campaign as they score runs and take wickets in aid of the players’ charity during the upcoming Test series in India.

The group are the first big names to start fundraising for the players’ charity via the goalgiving platform, which allows individuals to sponsor an amount of their choice per run scored, wicket claimed or catch taken by some of their favourite players in the game.

Those signed up from the men’s squad will be joined by a number of their female counterparts in the form of Tammy Beaumont, Kate Cross, Georgia Elwiss and Tash Farrant, all of whom will begin fundraising when England Women’s tour of New Zealand gets underway on 23 February.

All funds raised go towards the Trust, one of cricket’s leading charities which supports PCA members and their immediate families when they need it most.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that 426 individuals have received support from the Trust in the area of mental health alone since 2015, including an annual record figure of 94 in 2020.

Demand for the services of the Trust has therefore never been greater, and additionally the charity experienced an annual fundraising shortfall of up to £150,000 last year as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Signing up to Club Together for Cricket only takes a few minutes, and the platform offers complete flexibility, so you can choose how much you want to donate per run, wicket or catch, put a cap on your donations if you wish and decide if you want to give regularly or as a one-off.

With the LV= Insurance County Championship set to return on Thursday 8 April, there will also be further opportunities to support your favourite domestic players via the initiative, so keep an eye out for more details.

By making this small gesture and signing up to goalgiving in aid of the Trust, you can go a long way to supporting our sport in 2021 and beyond.
