The PCA England IT20 MVP Rankings will return on Friday as England face India in the first of five fixtures in Ahmedabad.

Skipper Eoin Morgan will have a full complement of players to choose from as England continue their preparations for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup, which is due to begin in India in October.

That means the likes of Sam Billings, Tom and Sam Curran and the world’s number one-ranked IT20 batsman Dawid Malan will join the existing players from the Test squad in India.

Malan is the current leader of the 2020/21 IT20 MVP following England’s 3-0 series whitewash of South Africa in November and December last year.

He currently has 31.2 MVP points to his name at an average of 10.4 points-per-game after scoring 173 runs at a rapid strike rate of 162 during that series.

Malan leads from Jos Buttler, whose eight MVP points earned behind the stumps contribute to his current cumulative total of 26 for the winter.

Ben Stokes is in third, his all-round contribution illustrated by the fact that he earned 8.4 MVP points for both batting and bowling in South Africa, whilst Chris Jordan (17.7 MVP points) and Jonny Bairstow (16.8) complete the current top five.

We will know the identity of England’s winter IT20 MVP upon the conclusion of the five-match series on Saturday 20 March, however the race for the Overall MVP goes on with three further ODIs against India scheduled.
