The 2023 Metro Bank Women’s Team of the Year has been selected by the PCA Most Valuable Player Rankings, powered by Argentex, to give a statistical XI from this season’s domestic women’s cricket.
The team was selected following the final of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy which brought an end to the women’s domestic season.
Georgia Adams captains the side for the second year in succession following a fabulous season in which she won the Charlotte Edwards Cup and Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy MVP awards, alongside lifting both trophies as skipper of Southern Vipers. Adams is also nominated for the cinch PCA Women’s Player of the Year award.
Five further players return to the team selected in 2022 with Lauren Winfield-Hill, Bryony Smith, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Katie Levick and Lauren Bell successful.
With the Women’s Overall Domestic MVP selecting a well-balanced side, MVP points across the Charlotte Edwards Cup, Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and The Hundred are taken into account with Adams, Bell and Smith making it a hat-trick of involvements following the inauguration of this award in 2021.
All the nominees for the cinch PCA Women’s Player of the Year award have been selected in the team with Tammy Beaumont, Adams, Sciver-Brunt and Smith included.
The cinch PCA Awards takes place at the Troxy on Monday 2 October where the best performing players in domestic and international cricket will be recognised.
All players selected in the 2023 Metro Bank PCA Women’s Team of the Year will receive a personalised winners medal from Mappin & Webb.
