PCA members are set to benefit from advice, education and guidance from the Association’s new financial wellbeing partner Brooks Macdonald, after the award-winning wealth management firm today became the PCA’s financial wellbeing partner.

The three-year agreement will see Brooks Macdonald, a leading wealth manager with £17.3 billion in funds under management, offer bespoke services to all PCA members. The partnership aims to support both current and former professional cricketers in the important area of personal finance, helping players to navigate the financial challenges that come with forging a career in professional cricket and beyond.

As part of that role, and beginning on Tuesday 8 February, Brooks Macdonald will be the headline sponsor of the PCA’s annual pre-season tour of all domestic professional squads, which sees the Association travel the length and breadth of the country to speak directly with the players ahead of the beginning of the domestic season on Friday 8 April.

The country’s brightest young cricketing talents will also benefit from the partnership, as Brooks Macdonald is due to present at the PCA’s annual Rookie Camp, which this year will bring together players who have just signed their first professional contracts for an official induction into the game on Tuesday 1 March.

The new agreement with Brooks Macdonald is a shining example of how becoming a commercial partner of the PCA can bring mutual benefits to both businesses and players. Through the financial wellbeing partnership, Brooks Macdonald will provide guidance to help players make confident and informed decisions about their finances, pension and investments.

The deal reaffirms the PCA’s commitment to supporting the financial wellbeing of its members, and current work in this area also includes the provision of education funding, the recent establishment of the Futures Fund for players leaving the game, and the ongoing delivery of specialist pension and financial planning advice.

PCA Commercial Operations Lead Richard Morris said: “We are delighted to bring Brooks Macdonald on board as the PCA’s financial wellbeing partner in the first agreement of its kind, which is an exciting step forward for both the PCA and our members.

“Effective financial planning is a hugely important part of being a professional cricketer, so this agreement just goes to show how a commercial partnership with the PCA can be of benefit to both businesses and players.

“That this partnership will initially run for three years illustrates Brooks Macdonald’s long-term commitment to supporting PCA members in this area, and we look forward to working with their excellent team well into the future.”

Brooks Macdonald Senior Private Client Director Stewart Sanderson said: “We are pleased to be supporting an organisation and a sport that share our core values of ambition, collaboration and respect. The work undertaken by the PCA, through this partnership, will allow us to use our expertise to educate and advise professional cricketers of the past, present and future on their financial wellbeing.”
